What do you mean, "no connections available"?

I'm just terrible at this--my computer has an internet connection so much of the time that I can't seem to imagine the possibility that it doesn't have one for any reason. So if there's no internet in the house, or the power has gone out, or I'm using my computer in the car or in a place without WiFi, I still constantly click on things that require internet, then slap myself on the forehead, move on, then do it all again a couple of minutes later. It's makes me feel very silly and forgetful.

Anyway, here are the comics from Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was the last day of driving. It's good to be in Maine, even if just for a couple of days! Back down to Florida tomorrow, though.

 

Road trip comics

My mom and I are on a "great trek north" and we're spending a large part of each day in the car. I have discovered that it's difficult to keep up with a routine when you're on the road! I've been thinking about the comics and partially sketching them--sometimes at a rest stop or even a red light (when I'm not driving)--but it's been hard to get a finished version done by the end of the day. We got in a bit earlier this evening, though, so I'm caught up through today! I don't have access to a scanner, of course, so photographs will have to do. Here are my comics from Tuesday through Friday. Enjoy!

It's been the ruin of many a poor boy.

I hope I do get to play a little bit of guitar, because it would give me a reason for practicing and keeping my fingertips callused. The repertoire will be event appropriate.

I actually was practicing "House of the Rising Sun", but only because I was going through some exercises that were based on the chord progression!

We'll be finding flour forever

Rather than dyeing eggs for Easter, I thought it would be fun to just make egg-shaped cookies and decorate them. When I started making the dough on Easter morning, Simon heard the mixer going and came running. He pulled over the chair and wanted to help. This is great; I love it that he wants to help in the kitchen. He actually did really well--he turned on the machine to the lowest speed two times. Then there was the third time....

Magic Art!

I remember doing projects like this in elementary school art classes. There was one project where we drew things in crayon, then the teacher poured black ink over them, which stayed on the paper but rolled off the waxy crayon. Another project had us scratching the black coating off a piece of some kind of material. I love school art projects. I have such fond memories of getting to try lots of different things. Yesterday's job at the Spring Festival definitely took me back.

The same thing happens when we get talking about Thomas the Tank Engine

Simon was sick, so he got to watch a little more TV than usual. We said he could watch whatever he wanted...he chose Tinkerbell. I think he's in love.

Shawn also tells me that actual forest sprites behave quite differently from those in the Disney mythos. They're erratic, unpredictable, and not as organized. They're chaotic neutral, apparently.
